Certificate in Design Thinking
We offer a four-week certificate program that combines Design Thinking with Social Change. Design Thinking is a human-centered methodology used to identify, understand, and solve complex problems. With AASD staff as their guide, participants will first become familiar with AASD’s unique work and approach to development with local campesino (indigenous farmer) communities. Then participants will dive deep into the problems, needs, and context of campesino communities. Through tools such as Theory of Change, Logic Models, and Journey Maps, participants will explore viable, effective solutions to the identified problems and present their ideas at the end of the program.
This program is fast-paced and group-based, giving participants an opportunity to hone skills related to navigating time management, small-group dynamics and virtual group work– skills that are highly sought-after now more than ever. Participants will be expected to sharpen their critical thinking skills and practice the art of reflection and inquiry, leading to both personal and professional development.
